Breaks can be fun, social and a lower-cost way to target a player or team—but they can also leave you with little or nothing. PCC gives collectors the information to understand the product and the risk before buying a spot.
A group purchase where the product is opened live and the contents are divided by pre-set rules.
Instead of buying an entire case or box, collectors buy a team, player, division, serial range or randomized spot. The breaker opens the product and distributes eligible hits according to the rules announced before the break.

BEFORE YOU BUY A SPOT
The written rules are part of what you are buying.
Never rely only on what is said during a livestream. Save the listing and confirm how every possible outcome will be handled before payment.
Understand assignment
Know whether you are buying a team, player, division, serial number or randomized spot—and when the randomization occurs.
Read edge-case rules
Multi-player items, traded players, retired teams, redemptions, points, non-sport inserts and unlisted subjects need a rule in advance.
Know what ships
Confirm whether base items, packaging, certificates and no-hit packages ship, plus the carrier, insurance and signature policy.
RESEARCH THE BREAKER
Not all breakers operate the same way.
A good breaker can create a fair, transparent and enjoyable collecting experience. Others may be inexperienced, careless with rules or shipping, or intentionally dishonest. A professional-looking stream, a large following or an exciting sales pitch is not proof that a breaker is trustworthy.
Research the person or business—not just the product—and look for consistent behavior over time.
Read reviews critically
Check multiple independent sources and look for repeated patterns. Reviews can be incomplete, mistaken, incentivized, manipulated or dishonest—both positive and negative—so do not let one review decide for you.
Ask direct questions
Ask how spots are assigned, how multi-player items are handled, what happens if you receive no hit, when items ship, and how valuable pulls are insured. Clear breakers should answer before you pay.
Watch before buying
Observe a full break. Look for visible seals, uninterrupted handling, transparent randomization, accurate naming of buyers and items, careful packaging and calm responses when something goes wrong.
Verify the business
Confirm identity, platform history, contact information and written policies. Use protected platform checkout. PCC status is evidence-based; a paid feature, sponsorship or large audience must never substitute for earned trust.

- Compare the spot price with the full product price and checklist depth.
- Use a platform with clear buyer protection and payment records.
- Verify the breaker’s identity, history and published policies.
- Watch the seal, opening, reveal and assignment process.
- Save the listing, rules, receipt and relevant video timestamps.
DON'T
Let urgency replace research.
- Do not assume “rare” means valuable or likely to hit.
- Do not treat product odds as your personal spot odds.
- Do not send off-platform payment to avoid buyer protections.
- Do not buy if ownership or multi-subject rules are unclear.
- Do not chase a loss by immediately buying more spots.
- Do not accept unexplained cuts, missing footage or changed rules.
Follow the item all the way home.
Confirm your assigned spot, watch the randomization and note any interruption. The product, serials, COA and hit should remain visible long enough to identify.
Keep the order confirmation and tracking number. Inspect the package, item, authentication and condition promptly, and record valuable pieces in your Collector Vault.
Document the issue with screenshots, video timestamps, photographs and messages. Contact the breaker first, then use the marketplace’s formal dispute process before its deadline.
“Guaranteed hit” may guarantee an item, not a star, profit or minimum resale value.
“Case hit” is not automatically a promise unless the manufacturer defines it and the exact case configuration is shown.
“Floor” and “ceiling” are estimates unless backed by a disclosed, current method. Ask whether values are retail, recent sales or asking prices.
PCC verification documents evidence and identity. It does not make a paid spot profitable, eliminate risk or convert a Seller Pro subscription into trust status.
